About your trip
From the shores of Ceará to the mountains of Chapada Diamantina, this journey through Northeast Brazil is packed with endemics, beautiful scenery, and a taste of the region’s unique culture. We’ll explore coastal scrublands and mangroves near Fortaleza and Icapuí, climb into the cool forests of Guaramiranga, scan the rocky landscapes of Quixadá, and spend time in the Caatinga at Potengi — Sítio Pau Preto. From there, the adventure continues south to Barbalha (Araripe Manakin), Canudos (Lear's Macaw), and the breathtaking Chapada Diamantina, before finishing in the capital of Bahia; Salvador. Expect a parade of Northeast specialties, unforgettable landscapes, and plenty of local flavors along the way.
